Elaine Rombola Aveni, Pianist & Teacher

Welcome!

Elaine Rombola Aveni is a pianist and teacher who works with students of all ages and levels of experience. She has been teaching piano for more than 20 years; her approach to lessons, while backed by rigorous conservatory training, is sensitive to the individual needs, abilities, and interests of each student.

A native of Los Angeles transplanted to the Boston area, Elaine earned degrees in Piano Performance from Oberlin Conservatory (B.Mus.) and New England Conservatory (M.Mus.). As a performer, she has a particular love for new music and has worked with many living composers, premiering a great number of new solo and chamber works. From 2005-2016 she was Program Director for Stephen Drury's Summer Institute for Contemporary Performance Practice at NEC.

She continues to perform solo and chamber music, as part of RAHA Duo with violist Amelia Hollander Ames, as well as with large ensembles around Boston such as the Callithumpian Consort and Sound Icon, with recent performances at the ICA and at NEC.
